Body
Whereas, The plaintiff, Allen Lane, has filed a lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee and various Police Department officials seeking to recover an amount of not less than $10,000,000; and
Whereas, The plaintiff has agreed to settle this lawsuit in the amount of $210,000.00 in addition to certain administrative steps to be undertaken by the Milwaukee Police Department; and
Whereas, The City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious and just to pay this lawsuit; now, therefore be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $210,000.00 payable to the order of the Trust Account of Machulak, Robertson & O'Dess, S.C., in full and final settlement of all monetary damages sought in this lawsuit, upon receipt of a release of claims, approved as to form and execution by the City Attorney, said amount to be charged to the Damages and Claims Fund, Account No. 636506 0001 1490 2631 S118-2003.
