Analysis
This substitute resolution provides for the execution of a contract for professional services associated with the City Underwater Dive Inspection Program for City Bridges. A contract will be awarded to the contractor which best meets the needs of the Infrastructure Servives Division as specified and determined by the Commissioner of Public Works.
Body
Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee through adoption of Common Council Resolution #021623 authorized funds estimated at $70,000 for underwater dive inspection at various locations; and

Whereas, It is a Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) requirement that all bridge foundations including those foundations underwater be inspected; and

Whereas, It is deemed desirable to engage the services of a consultant to assist the City of Milwaukee by performing underwater dive inspections for certain City of Milwaukee bridges; and,

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee issued a Request for Proposals to several engineering consultants to provide underwater inspection for bridge foundations; and,

Whereas, The consultant is capable, experienced and qualified to undertake and perform these services as an independent contractor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works and the City Comptroller are authorized to execute a contract for professional services associated with the City Underwater Dive Inspection Program for City Bridges, a draft copy of which is incorporated in C.C. File No. 030343, and referenced herein; and, be it

Further Resolved, That minor changes to the contract which do not change its intent ...
