Title
Substitute resolution to vacate a portion of North Hopkins Street located between West Mill Road and West Woolworth Avenue, in the 9th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This substitute resolution vacates the above portion of street in accordance with vacation proceedings under power granted to the City of Milwaukee by Section 66.297(1), Wisconsin Statutes, and Section 81-308-28, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances. This vacation was requested by the City of Milwaukee Real Estate section for consolidation of land for future sale and expansion of the Eisenhower Center.
Body
Whereas, It is proposed that a portion of North Hopkins Street located between West Mill Road and West Woolworth Avenue be vacated pursuant to the provisions of Section 62.73, Wisconsin Statutes; and

Whereas, The Department of Public Works has been authorized and directed to prepare a coordinated report estimating all costs and benefit assessments that will be incurred with said vacation; and

Whereas, Said vacation has been reviewed in accordance with Sections 81-116-1 and 308-28, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that said portion of street as indicated by Exhibit A and bound and described by:

That part of North Hopkins Street in the Northeast 1/4 of Section 26, Township 8 North, Range 21 East, lying between the north line of West Woolworth Avenue extended and a line described as follows: Commencing at the point of intersection of the easterly line of North Hopkins Street and the present southerly line of West Mill Road; thence Northwesterly, along the extension of said present southerly line, to a point lying 55.00 feet south of, as measured normal to, the north line of said 1/4 Section and 165.00 feet west of, as measured normal to, the east line of said 1/4 Section; thence Westerly, along the easterly extension of the prese...
