Whereas, Members of the Judiciary and Legislation Committee have reviewed the records of the Department of Neighborhood Services relating to a litter nuisance at 2855 South 44th Street.  Orders were issued to correct the situation and a subsequent reinspection revealed that the litter problem still existed. After hearing testimony from the claimant regarding missing personal items, members of the Committee, despite the recommendation of the City Attorney, voted to compromise and reduce the amount claimed from $195.00 to $100.00.  The amount recommended for settlement of the claim, $100.00, represents reimbursement for the screen windows taken from the premises; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper city officers be and they hereby are authorized and directed to issue a city check in the total sum of $100.00 payable to Charles and Linda Ergen, 2855 South 44th Street, Milwaukee, WI  53219, to reimburse them for screen windows; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the check is to be delivered upon presentation of a proper release, approved by the City Attorney; said amount to be charged to Account No. 636505, Fund - 0001, Organization - 1490, Program - 2631, Sub Class - S118.  This resolution would release the City from any further liability arising from this incident.
