Analysis
This ordinance authorizes health inspectors to issue citations for sign regulation violations which may be found during the course of their inspections of premises for the purpose of ascertaining public health conditions.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1. Section 200-19-4 of the code is amended to read:

200-19. Penalties.

4. In addition to other applicable enforcement procedures and pursuant to the authority of s. 66.0113, Wis. Stats., the health department may issue a citation with a prior order pursuant to the citation procedure set forth in s. 50-25 to any person violating s. 200-51.5.>>The health department may also issue a citation pursuant to the citation procedure set forth in s. 50-25 to any person violating any provision of ch. 244 or ss. 295-407, 295-505-5, 295-605-5, 295-705-7, 295-805-5, 295-903-3-d-5, 295-905-3-d-5 or 295-1015-3-c-4-e.<<

Part 2. Section 295-309-1 of the code is amended to read:

295-309. Enforcement. 1. COMMISSIONER OF NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICES. The commissioner of neighborhood services shall be authorized to enforce the provisions of this chapter. The commissioner of neighborhood services shall, on his or her own initiative or on complaint or referral, proceed to the remedy of violations.>>In addition, the commissioner of health shall be authorized to enforce the provisions of s. 295-407 and any other sign regulation for the applicable zoning district.<<
