Analysis
This resolution authorizes the transfer and expenditure of $7,000 from the Neighborhood Commercial District Street Improvement Fund for use by the Milwaukee Alliance for the installation of banners on Greenfield Avenue between 16th and 27th Streets and on Lincoln Avenue between Forest Home Avenue and 35th Street.

Body
Whereas, The 2003 Capital Budget for the City of Milwaukee ("City") finances projects from the Neighborhood Commercial District Street Improvement Fund; and

Whereas, The City has an ongoing commitment to the revitalization of neighborhood commercial districts; and

Whereas, The Milwaukee Alliance is a non-profit organization whose goal is to help create an environment that is good for business and families; and

Whereas, The Milwaukee Alliance will work on this project with the Layton Boulevard West Neighbors, an organization with a reputation for creating partnerships to build neighborhoods that care; and

Whereas, The Milwaukee Alliance and Layton Boulevard West Neighbors have invested time and resources into the improvement of the Greenfield Avenue commercial neighborhood district and the Lincoln Avenue commercial neighborhood district and are now proposing the installation of banners on Greenfield Avenue between 16th and 27th Streets and on Lincoln Avenue between Forest Home Avenue and 35th Street; and

Whereas, The installation of banners will greatly enhance Greenfield Avenue and Lincoln Avenue neighborhood investments; and

Whereas, Private funds will equal or exceed the amount of City funds for this project; now, therefore, be it...
