Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to install the necessary traffic control facilities and establishes funding in conjunction with a Federal/State Aid highway improvement project with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
Body
Whereas, The Surface Transportation Program provides cost participation for traffic control improvements in conjunction with the paving of highways located on the Federal/State Aid Highway System; and

Whereas, Common Council Resolution File Number 010810, adopted on November 6, 2001, authorized and directed the Commissioner of Public Works to execute an agreement for programming and construction of the improvement of North 84th Street from West Burleigh Street to West Hampton Avenue with Federal/State Aid under the Surface Transportation Program; and

Whereas, The total estimated cost of this project is $ 67,000 for the alteration and upgrading of traffic control signals and the upgrading of traffic control signs; and

Whereas, Twenty percent of the participating costs or $ 13,400 is non-reimbursable and is included in the Division's 2003 Capital Purpose Project/Grant Number ST320030000; and

Whereas, Eighty percent of the participating project cost or $ 53,600 is reimbursable from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and this amount is not included in Division accounts, and should be earmarked for this project in the 2003 Capital Grant and Aid Projects Fund Project/Grant Number SP032030100; now, therefore, be it
