Body
Whereas, The charging party, Robert L. Harvey, filed discrimination charges with the ERD and EEOC, claiming discrimination based upon race and in retaliation for engaging in protected activity, concerning his failure to be promoted; and
Whereas, The parties have agreed to settle this lawsuit with the payment of $15,000 to the charging party's attorney, which represents attorneys fees and costs, and by restoring certain vacation time to the charging party as set forth in the Settlement Agreement attached to the file; and the charging party, Robert L. Harvey waives and releases any and all other or further damage claims; and
Whereas, The City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it is expeditious and just to settle this lawsuit; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the City Attorney be and hereby is authorized to execute the Settlement Agreement attached to the file; and, be it
Further Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $15,000 payable to Robert J. Bauman, Attorney at Law, which represents attorney's fees and costs, upon receipt of a release of claims, approved as to form and execution by the City Attorney, and that these funds shall be appropriated from the Damages and Claims Fund, Account No...
