Substitute resolution amending the disposition of the surplus, improved, tax-deed property at 2537-41 North Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, in the 6th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This substitute resolution amends the disposition of said property by directing that it be sold to Brian Petersen, d/b/a UrbanScape Developments, LLC.
Body
Whereas, Common Council File No. 981151, adopted on January 12, 1999, declared surplus and directed that the Department of City Development (“DCD”) sell 2537-41 North Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to Harambee Ombudsman Project, Inc., at a fixed price of $500; and

Whereas, Harambee Ombudsman Project, Inc., did not close on the purchase of said property; and

Whereas, On November 18, 2002, DCD staff issued a Request for Proposals to rehabilitate said property; and

Whereas, On January 6, 2003, DCD received proposals; and

Whereas, DCD recommends sale of said property to Brian Petersen, d/b/a UrbanScape Developments, LLC, with the closing contingent upon site and building plan approval by DCD and on a firm financing commitment to complete the rehabilitation project as proposed; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of City Development is authorized and directed to sell the surplus, improved, tax-deed property at 2537-41 North Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Tax Key No. 322-1060-000, to Brian Petersen, d/b/a UrbanScape Developments, LLC, or assigns, at a fixed price of no less than $5,000; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the proper City officials are authorized and directed to perform such acts as may be required to consummate the sale of said property and that the proceeds, less a 20 percent disposition cost reimbursement to the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee, be credited to the Reserve For Tax Deficit Fund Account No. 0001-334106; and...
