Analysis
This resolution will result in the sale of a surplus, vacant, tax-deed lot for parking lot development.
Body
Whereas, The Milwaukee Police Athletic League, Inc. (“MPAL”) has offered $1,500 to purchase the vacant, tax-deed lot at 2321 West Burleigh Street, Tax Key No. 310-0886-1, for development of an off-street parking lot; and

Whereas, The MPAL proposes to develop a parking lot to provide off-street parking as a replacement for the parking lost when it assembled land and built its new facility across the street; and

Whereas, The Department of City Development recommends acceptance of said offer contingent upon the following:

1. Receipt of letters of support from all persons residing on the south side of West Burleigh Street from North 23rd to North 24th Streets.

2. Submittal, review and approval of a site plan.

3. Closing within 90 days from the date of Common Council adoption.

4. Completion of the project within 9 months from the date of closing; and

Whereas, Sale of said lot is in an “as is” condition without representations or warranties including but not limited to soil quality and subsurface condition; and

Whereas, The City Plan Commission has determined that said lot is surplus to municipal needs; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that said lot is declared surplus, that said offer from the Milwaukee Police Athletic League, Inc. is accepted, that the proper City officials are authorized and directed to perform such acts as necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution, and that the proceeds from the sale, less a 20 percent development ...
