(Infrastructure Services Division)
Analysis
This resolution authorizes and directs the Commissioner of Public Works to execute the Project Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the programming of the Off-Street Bikeway Study. The project will be funded 80 percent by STP-Discretionary funds, with the remaining 20 percent being paid by City funds.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee has actively promoted the expansion of bicycle and pedestrian facilities; and

Whereas, There are several potential off-street corridors within the City of Milwaukee that may accommodate a paved bicycle trail; and

Whereas, Bicycle and pedestrian projects such as the Off-Street Bikeway Study are eligible for the state's STP-Discretionary program; and

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee applied for STP-Discretionary funds to undertake the Off-Street Bikeway Study; and

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT) has approved this application and submitted a Project Agreement to be executed by the City of Milwaukee for the programming of the project with federal aid under the STP-Discretionary program; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works (CPW) is hereby authorized and directed to execute the Project Agreement for the programming of the Off-Street Bikeway Study, a copy of which is attached to Common Council Resolution File Number 021615 and is incorporated in this resolution by reference as though set forth in full; and, be it
