Minutes note: THE CLERK SWORE IN THE COURT REPORTER: Nonrenewal of a Class "D" bartender license for Steven Radovich. (no written exceptions have been filed) Renewal with a 15-day suspension of the Class "B" Tavern and Tavern Amusement (Cabaret/Nite Club) application for Joel Klamann for the premises located at 4928 W. Vliet St. ("O'Briens") (written exceptions have been filed) Renewal with a 20-day suspension of the Public Dance Hall renewal application for James Harrison for the premises located at 7427 W. Bradley Rd. ("CafĂ© H2O") (no written exceptions have been filed) Renewal with a 20-day suspension of the Class "B" Tavern and Tavern Dance renewal application for Olayinka George for the premises located at 5318 W. Center St. (Stepping Up Lounge) (no written exceptions have been filed) The President questioned whether the members of the Common Council read the Report and Recommendations of the Utilities and Licenses Committee in the matter and any written exceptions? Ayes: 16 - Ald. Davis, D'Amato, Henningsen, Bohl, Johnson-Odom, Gordon, Donovan, Richards, Wade, Dudzik, Sanchez, Breier, Nardelli, Murphy, Hines and President Pratt. Noes: 0. THE CHAIR asked whether the following applicants or their counsel were present and wished to address the Council. Steven Radovich, Joel Klamann, James Harrison and Olayinka George Joel Klamann and his counsel indicated they were present and wish to address the Common Council. ALD. SANCHEZ moved that the Common Council do now resolve itself into a committee of the Whole for the purpose of hearing from the counsel for the applicant and the City Attorney's office. The motion prevailed. PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMITTEE OF THE WHOLE Attorney Rodney Cubbie and Assistant City Attorney Bruce Schrimpf appeared and addressed the committee relative to the foregoing matter. ALD. DUDZIK moved that the committee do now rise. The motion prevailed. ALD. MURPHY moved for renewal without the 15 day suspension for Joel Klamann for the premises located at 4928 W. Vliet St. ("O'Briens") . The motion failed by the following vote: Ayes: 6 - Ald. D'Amato, Henningsen, Gordon, Richards, Murphy and President Pratt.. Noes: 10 - Ald. Davis, Bohl, Johnson-Odom, Donovan, Wade, Dudzik, Sanchez, Breier, Nardelli and Hines. ALD. MURPHY moved for renewal with a 10 day suspension of Joel Klamann for the premises located at 4928 W. Vliet St. ("O'Briens") . The motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: 12 - Ald. D'Amato, Henningsen, Bohl, Gordon, Donovan, Richards, Dudzik, Sanchez, Breier, Murphy and Hines and President Pratt. Noes: 4 - Ald. Davis, Johnson-Odom, Wade, Nardelli. James Harrison and his Counsel were present and wished to address the Council. RICHARDS moved to deny the Public Dance Hall renewal application of James Harrison for "Cafe H20" at 7427 W. Bradley Road despite the recommendation of the Utilities and Licenses Committee. The motion failed by the following vote: Ayes: 6 - Ald. D'Amato, Henningsen, Donovan, Richards, Nardelli and Murphy. Noes: 10 - Ald. Davis, Bohl, Johnson-Odom, Gordon, Wade, Dudzik, Sanchez, Breier, Hines and President Pratt.
