This resolution implements a provision of the 2003 City budget carrying over $152,000 from the 2002 City budget for the purpose of paying for full street-salting operations. The mayor's proposed 2003 budget had recommended a reduction in salting operations.
Body
Whereas, The 2003 adopted City budget contains a footnote directing that $152,000 be carried over from the 2002 City budget for the purpose of paying for the restoration of full street-salting operations; and
Whereas, Milwaukee residents have come to expect a high level of service with respect to street-clearing operations after snowfalls and salting is an integral part of those operations; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that $152,000 shall be carried over from the 2002 City budget to the 2003 City budget in order to pay for full street-salting operations; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to establish all accounts and accounting procedures necessary to fulfill the intent of this resolution.
