Title
A substitute ordinance relating to the setting of a boundary line between the City of St. Francis and the City of Milwaukee in the 14th Aldermanic District (accepting detachment of territory from the City of St. Francis).
Analysis
Pursuant to the provisions of s. 66.0227(2), Stats., this substitute ordinance accepts certain territory from the City of St. Francis. That territory was the subject of an ordinance detaching it from the City of St. Francis enacted by the St. Francis Common Council on December 2, 2002.
Body
Whereas, On October 30, 2002 and in accordance with s. 66.0227(1), Stats., a Class 1 Notice was published announcing the intention to circulate a petition to detach certain territory from the City of St. Francis and to attach that territory to the City of Milwaukee. The subject territory, hereinafter referred to as the “St. Francis Detachment,” is described below; and
Whereas, A petition of detachment signed by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, the owner of all land within the boundaries of the St. Francis Detachment, was filed with the St. Francis City Clerk on November 4, 2002; and
Whereas, Acting pursuant to the provisions of s. 66.0227(2), Stats., the Common Council of the City of St. Francis enacted an ordinance detaching the St. Francis Detachment on December 2, 2002; now, therefore, be it
Ordained, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that pursuant to s. 66.0227, Stats., and upon the petition of the Archdiocese of the City of Milwaukee, and the ordinance of the City of St. Francis duly adopted pursuant to the provisions of s. 66.0227(2), Stats., the City of Milwaukee accepts the detachment of the following territory, referred to above as the St. Francis Detachment, from the City of St. Francis:
“That part of the Northwest 1/4 of the Southeast 1/4 of Section 15, Town 6 North, Range 22 East, in the City of St. Francis, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, bounded and described as follows: Commencing at the Northwest corner of said Southeast 1/4 Section; thence N. 88° 52' 34” E. along the North line of said Southeast 1/4 Section 46.13 feet to a point; thence S. 25° 14' 26” E. 32.83 feet to the intersection of the East line of South Kinnickinnic Avenue and the South line of East Morgan Avenue; continuing thence S. 25° 14' 26” E. along the East line of South Kinnickinnic Avenue 134.76 feet to a point; thence N. 88° 52' 34” E. 199.40 feet to the point of beginning of the lands herein to be described; thence S. 25° 33' 02” E. 856.44 feet to a point; thence N. 62° 37' 04” E. 40.96 feet to a point; thence N. 69° 37' 33” E. 564.92 feet to the most Southwesterly corner of Parcel 2 of C.S.M. No. 6444; thence N. 00° 15' 37” E. along the West line of said C.S.M. No. 6444, 575.63 feet to a point; thence S. 88° 52' 34” W. 938.17 feet to the point of beginning.”
