Title
A substitute ordinance relating to the setting of a boundary line between the City of St. Francis and the City of Milwaukee in the 14th Aldermanic District (detaching territory from the City of Milwaukee).
Analysis
Pursuant to the provisions of s. 66.0227(2), Stats., this substitute ordinance detaches certain territory from the City of Milwaukee and if that detachment is accepted by the City of St. Francis, will result in the attachment of that territory to the City of St. Francis.
Body
Whereas, On October 30, 2002, and in accordance with s. 66.0227(1), Stats., a Class 1 Notice was published announcing the intention to circulate a petition to detach certain territory from the City of Milwaukee and attach that territory to the City of St. Francis. The subject territory, hereinafter referred to as the “Milwaukee Detachment,” is described below; and
Whereas, A petition of detachment signed by the Archdiocese of the City of Milwaukee, the owner of all land within the boundaries of the Milwaukee Detachment, was filed with the Milwaukee City Clerk on November 4, 2002; now, therefore, be it
Ordained, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that pursuant to s. 66.0227, Stats., and upon the petition of the Archdiocese of the City of Milwaukee, and further contingent upon the timely acceptance by the City of St. Francis, the following territory, referred to above as the Milwaukee Detachment, is hereby detached from the City of Milwaukee to be attached to the City of St. Francis:
“That part of the Northwest 1/4 of the Southeast 1/4 of Section 15, Town 6 North, Range 22 East, in the City of Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, bounded and described as follows: Commencing at the Northwest corner of said Southeast 1/4 Section; thence N. 88° 52' 34” E. along the North line of said Southeast 1/4 Section 46.13 feet to a point; thence S. 25° 14' 26” E. 32.83 feet to...
