Title
An ordinance relating to the hours during which commuter parking impacted area permits are in effect.
Sections
101-27.7-1 am
101-27.7-3 am

Analysis
At present, residents living in certain areas of the city are eligible to receive commuter parking impacted area permits, permitting them to park one or 2 vehicles on the street in excess of posted limits between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. weekdays, except Sunday. This ordinance changes the hours during which permit holders may park in excess of posted limits to those hours during which nighttime parking restrictions are not in effect. Nighttime parking restrictions are in effect from 2 a.m. until 6 a.m.

Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1. Section 101-27.7-1 of the code is amended to read:

101-27.7. Residential Daytime Parking Privilege for Commuter Parking Impacted Areas.

1. ESTABLISHED. There is declared the necessity to establish a permit system whereby vehicles bearing a valid special parking permit issued pursuant to this section may park in excess of the posted time limits on specifically designated streets within certain areas [[between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. weekdays, except Sunday]] >>during those hours when all-night parking regulations are not in effect<<.

Part 2. Section 101-27.7-3 of the code is amended to read:

3. IMPACTED AREAS. A residential area shall be deemed eligible for residential permit parking if, based on objective criteria considered by the commissioner, parking therein is impacted by commuter vehicles [[between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. weekdays except Sunday]] >>during those hours when all-night parking regulations are not in effect<<.
