Analysis
This resolution provides additional funds from the Common Council Contingent Fund necessary for payment required under provisions of the Milwaukee City Charter.
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee is annually required to pay to the Firemen's Relief Association 1/8 of the Fire Insurance Premium received from the State of Wisconsin; and
Whereas, The amount provided in the 2002 budget for payment to the Firemen's Relief Association was based on the prior year's experience; and
Whereas, The Fire Insurance Premium received by the City of Milwaukee exceeds the estimate, resulting in an increase in the amount required to be paid to the Firemen's Relief Association; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Comptroller is hereby authorized and directed to transfer funds in the amount of $8,291.19 from the 2002 Common Council Contingent Fund (0001-9990-0001-C001-006300) to supplement the appropriation of the Special Purpose Account Firemen's Relief Fund (0001-2110-0001-S133-006100) for the payment of 1/8 of the City's portion of the fire insurance premium received from the State of Wisconsin in 2002.
