Analysis
This substitute resolution authorizes the adoption of Relocation Plans for the 37th Street School Replacement Site Acquisitions and the Spot Acquisition of 530-32 West North Avenue prepared pursuant to Chapter 32.25 of the Wisconsin Statutes and in accordance with Wisconsin Department of Commerce guidelines.
Body
Whereas, The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee ("Authority") has approved the acquisition of 31 privately owned properties in the vicinity of North 35th Street and West Galena Street to assemble a replacement site for the 37th Street Elementary School on behalf of Milwaukee Public Schools; and

Whereas, The Authority also approved the acquisition of a mixed-used property at 530-32 West North Avenue as part of its blight elimination efforts in the proposed African American Cultural and Entertainment District; and

Whereas, Acquisition of these properties will result in the displacement of occupants who must be relocated according to Chapter 32.25 of the Wisconsin Statutes; and

Whereas, The Authority cannot proceed with land acquisition activities until it has approved State of Wisconsin Relocation Plans for the occupants expected to be displaced as required by Chapter 32.25 of the Wisconsin Statutes; and

Whereas, The Relocation Plans have been submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Commerce for approval; and

Whereas, Said Relocation Plans also must be submitted to and approved by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee as required by Chapter 66.1333(10) of the Wisconsin Statutes; now, therefore, be it
