Analysis
This resolution approves an amendment to the Redevelopment Plan for the North Harbor Drive Redevelopment Project Area. This area encompasses the area comprising Maier Festival Park and associated properties owned by World Festivals, Inc., and Harbor Island. The amendment changes sections of the Redevelopment Plan to add to additional publicly owned properties along the lakefront north of the Maier Festival Grounds extending north to, but not including, Juneau Park, and west to Lincoln Memorial Drive and west to, but not including state-owned freeway lands under I-794. The goals and actions of the Plan are not substantially changed.

Whereas, On December 19, 1985, the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee ("Authority") and on December 23, 1985, the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted a Redevelopment Plan for the North Harbor Drive Redevelopment Project Area; and
Whereas, The Authority desires to modify the North Harbor Drive Redevelopment Project Area to include additional properties in this proposed redevelopment area in the vicinity of North Harbor Drive and Lincoln Memorial Drive; and
Whereas, On August 15, 2002, following a public hearing held per Section 66.431, Wisconsin Statutes, the Authority approved Amendment No. 1 to the Redevelopment Plan for the North Harbor Drive Redevelopment Project Area and is herein transmitting said Amendment to the Common Council for its approval; now, therefore, be it
