Title
Substitute resolution to vacate a portion of the Southerly alley in the block bounded by West Forest Home Avenue, West Grant Street, West Muskego Avenue, West Lincoln Avenue and South 25th Street, in the 8th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This substitute resolution vacates the above portion of alley in accordance with vacation proceedings under power granted to the City of Milwaukee by Section 66.297(1), Wisconsin Statutes, and Section 81-308-28, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances. This vacation was requested by the Redmond Group to facilitate the construction of a Walgreens store.
Body
Whereas, It is proposed that a portion of the Southerly alley in the block bounded by West Forest Home Avenue, West Grant Street, West Muskego Avenue, West Lincoln Avenue and South 25th Street be vacated pursuant to the provisions of Section 62.73, Wisconsin Statutes; and

Whereas, The Department of Public Works has been authorized and directed to prepare a coordinated report estimating all costs and benefit assessments that will be incurred with said vacation; and

Whereas, A portion of land will be dedicated for public alley purposes and for vehicular access to the development site; and

Whereas, Said vacation has been reviewed in accordance with Sections 81-116-1 and 308-28, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that said portion of alley, as indicated by Exhibit A and bound and described by:

All that part of the East-West and North-South alley as presently laid out in Block 1 of Resubdivision of Knapp's Subdivision, a recorded subdivision, in the Southwest 1/4 of Section 6, Township 6 North, Range 22 East, lying between the westerly line of South Muskego Avenue extended and the Easterly extension of the south line of the North 44.90 feet of Lot 6 in said Block 1, is vacated; and, be it
