Title
Resolution authorizing the Department of Employee Relations to establish rate structure for all Management Employees in 2002 that will allow the City Of Milwaukee to close the gap between the low cost HMO and the City's Basic Plan by 50%.   (DER)
BODY
Whereas, The gap between the low cost HMO health insurance plan and the City's Basic Plan is $181 for single coverage and $321 for family coverage; and
 
Whereas, The City in 2002 is charging Management Employees who select the Basic Plan $100 for single coverage and $190 for family coverage; and
 
Whereas, Some Common Council members in 2001 indicated an effort to close this gap between the low cost HMO and the Basic Plan for management employees over a three year period; and
 
Whereas, It is the City's intention through bargaining with the represented unions to close this gap as well; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, That the Department of Employee Relations (DER) is authorized to communicate to Management Employees that the rate structure for the Basic Plan in 2003 will close the gap 50%; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That DER is authorized to communicate that the rate structure for the Basic Plan for Management Employees in 2004 will close the gap completely.
