Resolution relative to application for the Healthy Homes Demonstration Project. (Health Department)

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for the Healthy Homes Demonstration Grant Project from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. The project will serve families who have children with moderate to severe asthma.  Families will receive home environmental assessment for asthma triggers and home interventions to reduce asthma triggers such as dust mites, cockroach infestation and mold.

Body:

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development to serve families who have children with moderate to severe asthma; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application by the Health Department to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development for the Healthy Homes Demonstration Project is authorized.
