Title
Substitute resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of a Milwaukee County Youth Employment Program (MCYEP) Summer Program Grant.
Analysis
This substitute resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Public Library (MPL) to apply for, accept and fund a MCYEP Summer Program Grant from Milwaukee Employment and Training, Inc. in the amount of $2,954 with a city share of $812 and a grantor share of $2,142. The purpose of the project will allow MPL to improve the system wide use of technology services.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from Milwaukee Employment and Training, Inc. for the purpose of improving the system wide use of technology resources; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 06/10/02 to 08/31/02 would cost $2,954 of which $812 (27%) would be provided by the city and $2,142 (73%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Milwaukee Public Library shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2002 Special Revenue--Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project titled MCYEP Summer Program Grant:

2. Create the necessary Special Revenue Fund - - Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project Level values; budget to these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement;
3. Establish the necessary City Share Project values; and, be it
Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted for Milwaukee Public Library which is authorized to:
Expend from the amount budgeted for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Common Council directs that the 2002 Positions Ordinance, C.C. File #010468 should be amended as follows:

To expire 08/31/02 unless the MCYEP Summer Program Grant, available from Milwaukee Employment and Training, Inc. is extended. Positions are authorized only as reflected in the grant agreement which is approved by the Grantor Agency.
