This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to proceed with the procurement of professional services for designing and constructing a regional wet detention basin at North 91st Street and West Dean Road in the City of Milwaukee.
Body
Whereas, The Department of Public Works desires to design and construct a regional wet detention basin at North 91st Street and West Dean Road; and

Whereas, The purpose of the study is to treat storm water runoff for an urban industrial storm sewer basin which will enable the City to control pollutants, reduce the amount of storm water runoff entering the City's storm sewer system and reduce flooding in the area; and

Whereas, City of Milwaukee Common Council resolution number 011489, which authorizes the Department of Public Works, Infrastructure Services Division, to accept a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Urban Nonpoint Source and Storm Water Management Grant to fund the design and construction of a wet detention pond at North 91st Street and West Dean Road, was adopted by the Common Council on March 5, 2002; and

Whereas, It would appear that the City involvement in a grant aid project involving the Storm Water Management Program would result in the following major benefits to the City: controlling pollutants, reducing the amount of storm water runoff entering the City's storm sewer system and reducing flooding in the area; now, therefore, be it
