Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper city officers be and they hereby are authorized and directed to issue a city check in the total sum of $4,000.00 payable to Socrates Coats, 1974 West Fairmount Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53209, to reimburse him for property damage; and, be it
Resolved, That members have reviewed the records relating to the incident involving water service repair in the vicinity, and have taken testimony from the claimant and City representatives. Based on this review, members of the Committee, despite the recommendation of the City Attorney, believe it is most cost-effective to compromise and reduce the amount claimed from $8,000.00 to $4,000.00. This resolution would release the City from any further liability arising from this incident; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the check is to be delivered upon presentation of a proper release, approved by the City Attorney; said amount to be charged to Water Department Account No. 636506, Fund - 0410, Organization - 6411, Program - 2631, Sub Class - R643, Budget Year 2002.
