Body
Whereas, John M. Tries has filed a lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee seeking an unspecified amount of damages as a result of his arrest on November 10, 1997; and
Whereas, The claimant has agreed to settle the lawsuit in the amount of $33,000.00; and
Whereas, The City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious and just to pay this settlement; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officers be and are hereby authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $16,621.59, payable to the order of John M. Tries, a City check in the amount of $1,590.00, payable to the order of Fuchs, Snow & DeStefanis, S.C., and a City check in the amount of $14,788.41, payable to the order of Cannon & Dunphy, S.C., for a total of $33,000.00, in full and final settlement of this claim, upon receipt of a release of claims, approved as to form and execution by the City Attorney, said amount to be charged to the Damages and Claims Fund, Account No. 636506 001 1490 2631 S118-2002.
