Title
Substitute resolution accepting contribution from Citizens for Norquist.
Analysis
This resolution accepts a contribution from proceeds of the dissolution of the Citizens for Norquist campaign fund.
Body
Whereas, Mayor John Norquist and his wife have proposed a contribution to the City from the proceeds of the dissolution of the Citizens for Norquist campaign fund in accordance with s. 304-24 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and
Whereas, Such contribution must be accepted by the Common Council; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that in accordance with s. 304-24-4 of the Code, the Common Council hereby accepts a contribution from the proceeds of the dissolution of the Citizens for Norquist campaign fund in an amount together with the personal contribution from Mayor John Norquist and his wife, Susan Mudd, totaling $375,000; such contribution to be made after June 30, 2002; and, be it
Further Resolved, That such contribution shall be deposited with the City Treasurer in a trust account established by the City Comptroller as part of the City's permanent improvement fund to be available for expenditure for general city purposes after the Common Council provides the necessary budgetary and expenditure authority.
