Analysis
This resolution supports the City of Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Public Schools working together to examine the potential for reducing costs including, but not limited to licensing, upgrade and support fees charged by PeopleSoft. This resolution further authorizes and directs the Department of Administration--Information and Technology Management Division to work with Milwaukee Public Schools to examine such potential cost savings and submit a report to the Common Council within 120 days of the adoption of this resolution.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee has a long tradition of delivering services through a close cooperation with various governmental jurisdictions; and

Whereas, The City recognizes the importance that an effective partnership between the City and the Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) will help provide quality services to citizens in the most cost-effective manner; and

Whereas, The Milwaukee Board of School Directors has expressed interest in working with the City in exploring areas of mutual interest which may lead to more efficient delivery of services and cost savings; and

Whereas, Both the City and MPS utilize the same software for their payroll systems; and

Whereas, It is in the best interests of the City and MPS to examine the potential for reducing costs associated with licensing, upgrade and support fees charged by PeopleSoft; now, therefore, be it
