This motion approves amendment of the charter school contract between the City and Central City Cyberschool of Milwaukee to add a kindergarten.
Body
Whereas, In Common Council File Number 981283, passed on January 19, 1999, the Common Council authorized the Central City Cyberschool of Milwaukee, to operate as a Common Council charter school and approved a 5-year contract between the City and the Central City Cyberschool of Milwaukee; and
Whereas, The contract between the City and the Central City Cyberschool of Milwaukee authorized the charter school to serve children in grades 1 through 8; and
Whereas, The Central City Cyberschool of Milwaukee has requested that its contract with the City be amended to include kindergarten; and
Whereas, The Charter School Review Committee has voted to recommend that the contract between the City and the Central City Cyberschool of Milwaukee be amended to include kindergarten; now, therefore
It is moved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Common Council approves the proposed addition of kindergarten by the Central City Cyberschool of Milwaukee; and
It is further moved, That the Common Council approves the proposed amendment to the charter school contract submitted by the City Attorney and authorizes and directs the appropriate City officials to execute the amendment substantially in the form attached to this file, with such revisions as may be required by the City Attorney.
