Analysis
This resolution designates the Charles Kren Building and Carriage Barn, 2647-49 North 27th Street, as Historic Structures.
Body
Whereas, The Milwaukee Historic Preservation Ordinance, Section 308-81 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances, as amended, provides that Historic Sites, Structures and Districts may be designated by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee upon the recommendation of the Historic Preservation Commission; and
Whereas, The Historic Preservation Commission recommends that the Charles Kren Building and Carriage Barn, 2647-49 North 27th Street, be designated as Historic Structures; and
Whereas, These structures possess integrity of location, design, setting, materials, workmanship and association and fulfill the following criterion set forth in Section 308-81(2)(e):
e-7. Embodies elements of architectural design, detail, materials, or craftsmanship which represent a significant architectural innovation.
e-8. Is related to other distinctive areas which are eligible for preservation according to a plan based on an historic, cultural, or architectural motif.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Charles Kren Building and Carriage Barn, 2647-49 North 27th Street, and further described as follows:
Block 1 being a part of Germania Park in SE 1/4 Sec 13-7-21 Block 1 Lot 8
be designated as Milwaukee Historic Structures. The Preservation Guidelines pursuant to the Historic Designation Study Report, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File, shall apply to these structures and are adopted by the Common Council as part of this resolution.
