Analysis
Pursuant to s. Comm. 51.01 (121) and (122), Wis. Adm. Code, this ordinance redefines the term "story" for building facade maintenance purposes to clarify that the number of stories of a multifamily building includes all stories except the basement, ground floor, attic or interior balcony and mezzanine floor.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do
ordain as follows:
 
Part 1.  Section 275-32-13-c-8 of the code is repealed and recreated to read:
 
275-32.      Exterior Structure.
 
13.      FACADE CRITICAL EXAMINATION.
 
c.  Definitions.
 
c-8  "Story" means the space in a building between the surfaces of any floor and the floor next above or below, or roof next above, or any space not defined as basement, ground floor, mezzanine, balcony, penthouse or attic.  The number of stories of a multistory building includes all stories except the basement, ground floor, attic or interior balcony and mezzanine floor.
