Analysis

This resolution amends the procedure and policy criteria for the sale of water outside the City of Milwaukee by requiring communities which seeks to purchase water to have adopted a comprehensive plan according to the provisions of s. 66.1001, Wis. Stats., which is often referred to as the "Smart Growth" legislation.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that Common Council Resolution File Number 980871, adopted April 20, 1999, relating to procedure and policy criteria for sale of water to neighboring communities, is amended by creating Item #6 in the third "Further Resolved" clause to read as follows:

"6.  Whether the community or area to be served has adopted a

comprehensive plan according to the provisions of s. 66.1001, Wis.Stats."
