Analysis
This ordinance sets forth specific guidelines relating to allocation of community development block grant funds:
1. No more than 50% of community development block grant funds may be allocated in any year under the city's consolidated plan for administration and activities performed by city department and city-related agencies.
2. The 50% limitation may be exceeded by a 2/3 vote of the members of the common council at the time of the vote.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 310-33 of the code is created to read:
310-33. Community Development Block Grant Spending Guidelines.
1. No more than 50% of community development block grant funds may be allocated in any year under the city's consolidated plan for administration and activities performed by city department and city-related agencies.
2. The limitation specified in sub. 1 may be exceeded by a 2/3 vote of the members of the common council at the time of the vote.
