Title
A substitute resolution relating to installation of boulevard irrigation systems commencing in 2002.
Analysis
Currently, Common Council resolution file number 970676, adopted September 23, 1997, prohibits the Department of Public Works from installing bed-only boulevard irrigation systems, that is systems which water only flower and shrubs beds, until such time as the department received further direction from the Common Council. This resolution removes this prohibition in light of the Mayor's proposed 2002 budget item to install boulevard irrigation systems to water only flower and shrub beds.

Whereas, The Common Council adopted resolution file number 970676 on September 23, 1997, and in part prohibited the Department of Public Works from installing bed-only boulevard irrigation system, that is systems which water only flower and shrubs beds, until such time as the department received further direction from the Common Council; and
Whereas, The Mayor's proposed 2002 budget proposes to install boulevard irrigation systems to water only flower and shrubs, and Common Council approval of such a request is required; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the provision in file number 970676 prohibiting installation of bed-only boulevard irrigation systems is rescinded, commencing in 2002.
