Analysis

This resolution directs the Department of City Development to prepare a resolution which vacates said alley in accordance with vacation proceedings under power granted to the City of Milwaukee by Section 66.297(1), Wisconsin Statutes, and Section 81-308-28, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances. This alley vacation is necessary for the redevelopment of the Grand Avenue Mall.

Whereas, It has been proposed by the Department of City Development that the East-West leg of alley in the block bounded by West Michigan Street, West Wisconsin Avenue, North Plankinton Avenue and North 2nd Street be vacated pursuant to the provisions of Section 66.297, Wisconsin Statutes; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Department of City Development is directed to prepare a resolution to vacate said alley in accordance with Section 81-308-28 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances.
