Title
Substitute resolution relating to renumbering of election wards that comprise the 2004 aldermanic districts.
Analysis
This resolution renumbers wards in a consecutive manner based on the 2004 aldermanic districts per statutory requirements.
Body
Whereas, On August 2, 2001, the Common Council adopted resolution file number 001846 establishing ward lines in the City of Milwaukee based on 2000 decennial census data, as required by s.5.15, Wis. Stats.; and

Whereas, Due to adjustments of certain wards and establishment of new aldermanic district boundaries, effective in 2004, the established ward numbers do not run consecutively within each aldermanic district; and

Whereas, In order to streamline the administration of election operations, ward numbers should be renumbered beginning with ward one in aldermanic district one and continuing consecutively so that the last ward number 314, is located in aldermanic district 17; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City of Milwaukee's ward plan be technically corrected so that wards are renumbered consecutively in the following manner:
