Whereas, On June 19, 2001, the Common Council adopted File Number 001659, a resolution authorizing 2001 budget year departmental reductions, the nonexpenditure of funds authorized by the 2001 budget; and
Whereas, File Number 001659 authorized certain 2001 budget reductions enumerated in an Attachment A to the file dated June 14, 2001, which included a 25% reduction in street sweeping services providing a net savings of $499,776 in the Department of Public Works Buildings & Fleet and Sanitation Divisions; and
Whereas, The authorized budget reductions included leaving vacant 6 positions of Driver Worker; and
Whereas, It is in the best interest of the citizens of Milwaukee to restore certain DPW operations to the level originally authorized in the 2001 Adopted City Budget; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Common Council File Number 001659 is amended to reflect the deletion of the 25% reduction in street sweeping as enumerated in the Attachment A dated June 14, 2001, in order to restore DPW operations to the level originally authorized in the 2001 Adopted City Budget; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the filling of 6 vacant positions of Driver Worker is authorized and directed.
