Body
Whereas, The plaintiff, Dean Monfre filed a lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee seeking reimbursement of wages taken out of his paycheck by his department; and
Whereas, The parties have agreed to settle this lawsuit and in consideration of a mutual release, the City has agreed to pay the $2,450.00 to the plaintiff which represents back pay and $2,050.00 to plaintiff's counsel which represents attorneys fees and costs; and
Whereas, The City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious and just to settle this lawsuit; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $2,050.00 payable to Attorney Lynne Zuehlsdorf-Mack which represents attorneys fees and costs; $2,450.00 payable to Dean Monfre, in full and final settlement of this lawsuit, upon receipt of a release of claims, approved as to form and execution by the City Attorney, and that these funds shall be appropriated from the Department Salary Account No. 0001-6001010-5455.
