Title
Substitute resolution appropriating funds from the DCD Advance Planning Fund for the Near West Side Master Plan.
Analysis
This substitute resolution authorizes and directs the Department of City Development to prepare a neighborhood master plan for the Near West Side in the 4th, 16th and 17th Aldermanic Districts. It transfers $35,000 from accounts in the Year 2001 Advance Planning Fund and $40,000 from the Year 2002 Advance Planning Fund into a subaccount for the preparation of the neighborhood master plan. This substitute resolution also provides authority for the proper City officials to enter into a Cooperation Agreement with a community organization (the West End Development Corporation) to accomplish the preparation of the neighborhood master plan.
Body
Whereas, The Department of City Development ("DCD") continues to prepare plans for areas within the City of Milwaukee; and

Whereas, Community organizations have requested that DCD prepare a master plan for the Near West Side, an area generally bounded by I-43 on the east, I-94 on the south, US 41 on the west, and West Vliet Street on the north, and community organizations have offered to assist DCD in funding and preparing the plan; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Department of City Development is authorized and directed to prepare a neighborhood master plan for the Near West Side; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the proper City officials are authorized to enter into a Cooperation Agreement with the West End Development Corporation and/or other neighborhood organizations for assistance in the preparation of said neighborhood master plan consistent with the terms outlined in Exhibit A, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File; and, be it
