Title
A substitute ordinance relating to ambulance conveyance rates.

Analysis
This ordinance creates a 2-tiered system for ambulance conveyance rates and increases the amount charged for both Basic Life Support and Basic Life Support Emergency conveyances.
 
      For patients who are residents of the city of Milwaukee, it increases the amount charged for both types of conveyance from the current $252.55 to $325.
•      For patients who are not residents of the city of Milwaukee, it increases the amount charged for both types of conveyance from the current $252.55 to $375.
 
This ordinance also increases the ambulance mileage rate from the current $6.74 per mile to $8.76.
Body
 
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
 
Part 1. Section 75-15-14-c of the code is repealed and recreated to read:
 
75-15.      Ambulance Certification Regulations.
 
14.      AMBULANCE RATE.
 
c.      The rate charged for conveyance shall be as follows:
 
c-I. For patients who are residents of the city of Milwaukee, for Basic Life Support, $325 and, for Basic Life Support — Emergency, $325.
 
c-2. For patients who are not residents of the city of Milwaukee, for Basic Life Support, $375 and, for Basic Life Support-Emergency, $375.
 
c-3. In addition to the charges provided in subds. c-I and 2, a charge of $8.76 per mile shall be assessed for mileage, mileage to be defined as the distance traveled with the patient in the ambulance from the point of patient origin to destination.
