Analysis
This resolution directs the Intergovernmental Relations Division – Department of Administration to seek introduction and passage of state legislation permitting municipalities to require impending community living arrangement facilities or adult family homes classified as a permitted use within a zoning district to provide written notification to owners of property immediately surrounding and within at least 200 feet thereof.
Body
Whereas, The opening of a community living arrangement facility or adult family home, even if classified as a permitted use within a zoning district, may give rise to neighborhood concerns regarding health, safety, and welfare; and

Whereas, The written notification of an impending community living arrangement facility or adult family home would serve to inform in a timely manner the surrounding property owners of changes that may have an impact on their properties; and

Whereas, The requirement of written notification could facilitate the strengthening of the relationship between the community living arrangement facility and the surrounding neighborhood; now, therefore, be it
