Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the MBCAP Well Women Health Initiative Grant project from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services in the amount of $82,239 with $65,692 provided by the grantor and $16,547 provided by the City. The purpose of the project is to expand the scope of the Wisconsin Women's Cancer Control Program beyond its current focus of breast and cervical cancer screening to include health promotion and risk reduction for cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, mental illness and domestic violence.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services to expand the scope of the Wisconsin Women's Cancer Control Program beyond its current focus of breast and cervical cancer screening to include health promotion and risk reduction for cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, mental illness and domestic violence; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 01/01/01 to 12/31/01 would cost $82,239 with $65,692 (80%) provided by the grantor and $16,547 (20%) provided by the City; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to commit funds within the Project/Grant parent account of the 2001 Special Revenue Accounts-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the project ...
