Analysis

This resolution authorizes execution of an Out-of-Program Agreement between the City and St. Luke's Medical Center.  The agreement stipulates that St. Luke's would relocate a sanitary sewer in easement in vacated South 29^th Street south of West Kinnickinnic River Parkway to allow hospital expansion while the City designs and constructs a new, permanent sanitary sewer between South 29^th and South 31^st Streets.  All sewer improvements would be funded by the hospital.

Body

Whereas, St. Luke's Medical Center plans to expand its facilities within the alignment of vacated South 29^th Street; and

Whereas, The expansion project will require relocation of an existing City of Milwaukee sanitary sewer located in easement in the vacated street as well as the construction of a new, permanent sanitary sewer between South 29^th  and South 31^st Streets south of West Kinnickinnic River Parkway; and

Whereas, St. Luke's Medical Center will provide the necessary funds for all sewer improvements covered by the agreement; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee hereby authorizes the proper City officers to execute an Out-of-Program Agreement between the City of Milwaukee and St. Luke's Medical Center, said agreement being attached to this file; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to make minor, non-substantive changes to the agreement prior to its execution.
