Title
Motion to approve amending the charter school contract between the City and Khamit Institute, Inc.
Analysis
This motion approves an additional site of the charter school program of Khamit Institute, Inc., which was approved as a Common Council charter school in Common Council File Number 980346, passed on July 24, 1998. The additional site has been approved by the charter school review committee, and the City Attorney has prepared appropriate amendments to the charter school contract. The motion also approves the contract amendments and authorizes and directs the appropriate City officials to execute the contract amendments prepared by the City Attorney.

Whereas, In Common Council File Number 980346, passed on July 24, 1998, the Common Council authorized Khamit Institute, Inc., to operate as a Common Council charter school and approved a 5-year contract between the City and Khamit Institute, Inc.; and
Whereas, Khamit Institute, Inc., proposes to add an additional site and that proposal has been approved by the charter school review committee; and
Whereas, The City Attorney has approved amendments to the Khamit Institute, Inc., charter school contract and those amendments are attached to this file; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Common Council approves an additional site of the charter school program of Khamit Institute, Inc.; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Common Council approves the proposed amendments to the charter school contract submitted by the City Attorney and authorizes and directs the appropriate City officials to execute the amendments substantially in the form attached to this file, with such revisions as may be required by the City Attorney.
