This ordinance prohibits an off-premise sign from being located within 1,000 feet of the Lake Parkway (State Trunk Highway 794) if the sign has advertising copy visible from the Lake Parkway.
BODY:
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 295-99-0 of the code is amended to read:
295-99. Advertising Signs Adjacent to Freeways >>or the Lake Parkway<< . Outdoor advertising which has advertising copy visible from a freeway >>or the Lake Parkway<< shall be governed by the following regulations:
Part 2. Section 295-99-2-e-0 and 2 of the code is amended to read:
2. LOCATION.
e. Off premise signs located within 1,000 feet east or west of the Hoan Memorial Bridge>>/Lake Parkway<< or the High Rise Bridge are prohibited. In this paragraph:
e-2. "Hoan Memorial Bridge>>/Lake Parkway<<" means [[that portion]] >>those portions<< of Interstate 794 >>and State Trunk Highway 794<< located between East St. Paul Avenue extended and the [[north line of South Carferry Drive]] >>south city limits<<.
