This resolution amends Resolution File Number 991041, adopted on November 9, 1999, which authorized the City to accept up to $7,000 in private contributions for the purpose of performing needed repairs and installing an automatic pull-down striker for the bell in the City Hall bell tower. Private contributions to this effort have been larger than expected, and this resolution authorizes the City to accept up to $14,000 for the project.
BODY:
Whereas, The Common Council, on November 9, 1999 adopted Resolution File Number 991041 authorizing the acceptance of a private contribution for the purpose of performing needed repairs and installing an automatic pull-down striker for the bell in the City Hall bell tower; and
Whereas, This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works - Buildings and Fleet Division to accept up to $7,000 for this purpose; and
Whereas, The private contributions received for this purpose have exceeded this amount; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the last "Further Resolved" clause in Resolution File Number 991041 is amended by deleting the amount "$7,000" and inserting in lieu thereof the amount "$14,000."
