Substitute resolution relating to the allocation of space in the City of Milwaukee Safety Academy to the Milwaukee Police Historical Society for the storage and display of the Society's collection of law enforcement artifacts and memorabilia.

This resolution provides that the following spaces in the City of Milwaukee Safety Academy, 6680 North Teutonia Avenue, shall be assigned to the Milwaukee Police Historical Society for current and future storage and display of the Society's collection of law enforcement artifacts and memorabilia:
1. The western corridor of the 1st floor (the corridor which affords access to room 17) from the north entrance to room 188 south to the southern corridor of the 1st floor (the corridor which affords access to rooms 158 and 159).
2. The southern corridor of the 1st floor from the western corridor of the 1st floor to the eastern corridor of the 1st floor (the corridor which affords access to room 182).
3. The eastern corridor of the 1st floor from the central entrance to room 182 south to the southern corridor of the 1st floor.
4. Rooms C and D adjoining room 235 (library) on the 2nd floor.
BODY:
Whereas, The Milwaukee Police Historical Society ("Historical Society") was incorporated in June, 1996; and
Whereas, The goals of the Historical Society include:
1. Promoting and preserving the rich history of the Milwaukee Police Department.
2. Educating the public regarding law enforcement ideals and history.
3. Increasing awareness of the history of the Milwaukee Police Department through displays, events, publications, tours, lectures and meetings.

Whereas, To achieve these goals, the Historical Society has collected, preserved, maintained, stored and displayed a vast collection of law enforcement artifacts and memorabilia at the City of Milwaukee Safety Academy...
