This resolution authorizes the sale of excess street right-of-way for the amount of $1.00.
BODY:
Whereas, The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District ("MMSD") is assembling vacant lots owned by the City of Milwaukee, Marquette University High School and the Wisconsin Electric Power Company to build replacement housing for persons displaced by their flood mitigation project in the Menomonee Valley area; and

Whereas, MMSD has offered to purchase the excess street right-of-way located at 332 North 37th Street from the City of Milwaukee for $1.00; and

Whereas, MMSD is preparing a Certified Survey Map for a parcel which, when combined with said excess street right-of-way, will create two separate buildable lots; and

Whereas, MMSD will directly convey one of the two buildable lots to a flood mitigation displaced person for new home construction and deed the other lot back to the City of Milwaukee for future residential development; and

Whereas, Said excess street right-of-way is being sold in an "as is" condition; and

Whereas, The City Plan Commission has approved the acceptance of said Offer, the sale of said right-of-way to be consummated in the manner provided for in the sale of other City-owned property pursuant to Section 304-49 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the excess street right-of-way located at 332 North 37th Street, Tax Roll Key No. 402-9978-9, is declared surplus, that the MMSD's Offer to Purchase said right-of-way is accepted, and that the proper City officials are authorized to accept a...
