This substitute resolution authorizes the City of Milwaukee to apply for a State Enhancements - SFY 2000 Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation in the amount of $1,426,460 with a City Match of $356,615 for a total project cost of $1,783,075. The purpose of the project is to design and install pedestrian level harp lights, high level lanterns, banners, and other street amenities on South Howell Avenue from East Morgan Avenue to East Layton Avenue.
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee ("City") appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation; and
 
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from January 1, 2000 to December 31, 2001 would cost $1,783,075 of which $356,615 (20%) would be provided by a City Match and $1,426,460 (80%) would be provided by the Grantor; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that application to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for a State Enhancements - SFY 2000 Grant for the South Howell Avenue Project is authorized.
