Resolution relative to application for a Books to Go: Renewing Service to Preschoolers Grant.

ANLS:

This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Public Library to apply for a Books to Go: Renewing Service to Preschoolers Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in the amount of $52,735 with a city share of $3,135 and a grantor share of $49,600. The purpose of the project is to provide library services to children 5 years of age and younger who are currently unserved.

BODY:

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 01/01/00 to 12/31/00 would cost $52,735 of which $3,135 (6%) would be provided by the city and $49,600 (94%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the State of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction is authorized.
